Kindersley’s Dakota Buttar finished his regular season in the PBR Unleash The Beast event in Nampa, Idaho this past weekend. On the hunt for his fourth consecutive qualification to the Professional Bull Riders World Finals, Dakota Buttar finished 16th at the final regular season tune up before the World Finals in Las Vegas November 6-10 at the T-Mobile Arena.

The 26 year old was lone Canadian bull rider in the draw and was joined by two bovine athletes from Canada as well named Cool Bricks and Blue Blood. In an all-Canadian showdown, Buttar attempted Blue Blood in Round 1 of the Cooper Tires Take the Money and ride, and in a very close showdown Buttar was bested by the bull in a close 7.54 seconds.

In round 2 Saturday night, Buttar rebounded, reaching 8 seconds on the bull Humberto for 84.25 points. His event would come to an end shortly after though, getting bucked off by Scooby in 5.17 seconds. Buttar still sits in 26th place in the world after the event and is number 1 in Canada heading into the PBR World Finals.
