The town of Eston has won their fourth and third consecutive Communities in Bloom provincial title with a rating of five blooms.

Eston won for their population in the category of 1,001 to 2,000 residents as announced by the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association.

The winners are chosen based on landscape and floral displays, tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry and other similar criteria.

Every year the judges for Communities in Bloom give special recognition to certain or specific aspects of the community, and this year Eston received a special mention for the town’s community profile book and Centennial Park.

Communities in Bloom began over 20 years ago with only 29 Canadian communities, and now helps to improve neighborhoods across Canada and in the U.S. The goal of the non-profit organization is to improve green spaces and award property owners for making communities more beautiful.
