Thanks to the recent rainfall in the area Unity has been able to lift the fire ban which was put in place back on April 12th. Unity Fire Chief Colby Klein expands on the news.

"We got a little bit of rain here over the past couple of days. it gave us the moisture that we needed to lift it within the town"

Only certain materials are permitted to be burned in outdoor fire pits, says Klein.

"Strictly wood, paper and charcoal. No burning of any other materials."

A fire permit, which are free, is required prior to burning and Klein shares where they are available.

"You just stop down at the town office or go on the website under permits and print one off and we'll have a member come by and inspect it."

This fire ban lift is for the Town of Unity only and not for the surrounding R.M.s.
