Residents of Rosetown, Eston; and supporters of their local senior hockey teams have to be proud of the special work done over the weekend for a great cause. The #GoalsForGaspers initiative has taken off in Rosetown, and managed to spread down to Eston this past weekend as over $2,000 was raised for the Gasper Family Foundation.

Numerous sponsors were present for both sides over the weekend, as different game stats such as goals, assists, shots, and saves, were all tallied and remunerated to the tune of $2,203 towards the Gasper Family Foundation.

West Central native and Brandon Wheat Kings General Manager Doug Gasper was impressed with the effort, and even got in on the action himself.

As for the weekend of hockey, the Ramblers defeated the Redwings 11-2 on Friday night, and then took an 11-6 victory at home in what was a special home game for the Ramblers as well. Rosetown was right back in action Sunday, but they were unable to collect their first win of the season on the road in Delisle, losing 9-6 to the Bruins.
