The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers continued their strong play this past weekend with a pair of victories over the leagues best. Liam Fraser had his fourth multi-goal game of the season, and third in the last two weeks, scoring twice more as the Kindersley Klippers beat the Battlefords North Stars 3-2 in overtime Friday night.

The Klippers and North Stars got right back at it on Saturday night at the West Central Events Centre. Matt Sankner was the star of the game as he stopped all 32 shots he faced for his first SJHL shutout and the Kindersley Klippers blanked the Battlefords North Stars 2-0, sweeping their weekend home and home. Sankner was awarded the SJHL goaltender of the week yesterday, for his efforts against the North Stars over the weekend. Sankner is 5-2-3-0 in 10 starts since coming from Flin Flon to Kindersley, and he has a 2.36 GAA, .935% on the season.

Jacob Schnapp opened the scoring for the Klippers and Ethan King added one more in the third period. Kindersley is without a regulation loss in their last eight games (5-0-3) and have moved past Notre Dame into 8th spot over the weekend. The Klippers start a 3 game road trip this Thursday in Wilcox against the Notre Dame Hounds at 7:30 pm before moving on to Estevan and Weyburn on Friday and Saturday respectively.
