The Western Prairie Female Hockey program had some good news to share over the weekend. U15 AA Thunder players Stevie Christiaens and Reese Kampen both officially signed with the U18AAA Swift Current Wildcats for the 2024/2025 season.

Beginning with Christiaens, the Eston born forward will look to carry over an impressive scoring touch from AA to AAA after leading the Thunder with 45 points in 27 games played this past season. Christiaens' 24 goals this season were good for first on the team, also finishing tied in first for assists at 21 total.

The next signing saw the Wildcats also adding Western Prairie defender and Rosetown native Reese Kampen. From the blue-line this year, Kampen finished top ten on the team in points collecting 5 goals and 10 assists across 26 games played.

These two players helped the Thunder to an impressive 22-5-0 record in the regular season. The team earned a bye in the first round of playoffs, before being upset by the Warman Wildcats in two games.

The signings were announced on the Western Prairie Facebook page Saturday morning. Good luck to both players, as hopefully they won't be the only Thunder players signing on for AAA next season.
