One of the only games going on in west-central Saskatchewan this past weekend, the Wilkie Outlaws hosted the Macklin Mohawks for Game 3 of their Sask West Hockey League semi-final series. A snowstorm wasn't enough to prevent the Wilkie Outlaws from earning a spot in the SWHL Finals, and continuing their undefeated season overall with a 4-1 win and 3-0 series sweep.

The Outlaws got off to a blazing start as Rick Cey scored in the first, and second, before Ryne Keller made it 3-0 in the middle frame. Cey completed his hat-trick with a goal five minutes into the third to make it 4-0, and despite Brian Hillis getting Macklin on the board, the Mohawks season ended unceremoniously with a 4-1 defeat to the rival Outlaws.

Now Wilkie will have to await their SWHL Finals opponents, as the Kindersley Senior Klippers are currently tied up in their series with the Hafford Hawks at 1-1. Game 3 is being played Wednesday, Game 4 would be Saturday in Hafford, and a potential Game 5 would be played Sunday, March 10 at 7:00 PM in Kindersley.

The above title from Friday couldn't have been any less true, as good games were on the schedule, but eventually canceled due to a heavy snowstorm.
