The teams behind them are also undefeated, but following the second week of SWHL action the Wilkie Outlaws are in first place with a perfect 3-0-0 record to start the year.

The Kindersley Sr. Klippers are in fourth after winning their season opener 7-0 against Unity to move to 1-0-0, with the Macklin Mohawks and Edam 3 Stars sitting second and third in the standings respectively at 2-0-0.

Looking at the players of the week, Unity’s Jake McMillan scored 4 goals including the OT winner on Friday vs Biggar. For Macklin, Tyler Gartner and Dalton Weinkauf impressed, while Wilkie’s Brock Harrison scored 4 goals and collected 11 points over the weekend. Rory Gregoire and Will Rathje also earned mentions from the Outlaws.

Kindersley’s David Dziurzynski had 4 points in the Sr. Klippers opener, while Edam’s Cody Danberg collected 4 points as well. Hafford’s Kyle Rivett had 4 points over two games, and Biggar’s Brett Novak scored 4 and collected 1 assist in two games as well.

Looking at some high volume goalie performances, Biggar’s Brett Matlock made 70 saves on 83 shots through two games, and Nik Amandrud made his SWHL debut in net for Kerrobert and stopped 43 of 47 shots in a tough OT loss to Edam. 

League President Joe Cey has awarded this week’s Player of the Week award to Brock Harrison of Wilkie. Harrison collected 1 goal and 4 assists vs Hafford, and a hat-trick to go along with 3 assists vs Biggar for an 11 point weekend.
