The Sandhills Boxing Club and the Town of Leader, will be playing host to a special event tomorrow at the Leader Community Center. Ken Blohm with the Sandhills Boxing Club gives some details on the event.

“We are having our annual fund-raising event; it's called the South Saskatchewan Classic. We're very proud to be able to display some of the talents that our competitors have been working hard all year. We are excited to have a whole bunch of different cities and communities coming down, 12 different cities to make up 15 different matches, competitive bouts and ages from 10 to 30. These guys are working hard and ready to go, can't wait to have everybody out,” Blohm said.

The event will be the first since 2019 due to COVID restrictions, and Blohm is looking forward to hosting it once again.

“It’s a very exciting time, being able to get back into the world and get the world back into the community,” Blohm added.

Presale tickets are still available for the event at the at the Leader Liquor Market, Dirk Family Pharmacy and Scotts Fine Food. And they will be available for purchase at the door as well, with adult tickets costing $20, and kids 12 & under costing $10.

West Central Online will be in attendance at the 2nd Annual South Sask Classic, and you can expect a full follow up on the event early next week.
