Spring is in the air which means many will be hitting the walking trails to get exercise and enjoy the scenery. That scenery usually comes with a cluster of garbage after the snow melts which can be an unpleasant sight to those out on the trails.

Tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. the Kindersley Walking Trail Committee will be hosting its annual spring cleanup at the Motherwell Reservoir and is encouraging residents to join in.

Sharon Haubrich, a member of the Trail Committee explains the details for those volunteering their time.

“The town will be supplying us with garbage bags and gloves so that volunteers can use those to pick up. We’ll all just be allocated a spot and everybody should wear appropriate clothing. It could be a little muddy and its tick season so we want people to come prepared and the Synergy Credit Union and the Trail Committee are providing refreshments.”

Those joining for the cleanup are asked to meet at the parking lot near the North end of the Reservoir which is located off West Road.
