To say that Kenaston Blizzards forward Jamien Yakubowski had a great year in the SVHL would be an understatement. Not only did he lead the league in goals with 41 and points with 77, but he also led the entire province in scoring in senior leagues.

Yakubowski was quick to mention this could not have been done without the help of linemates.

“One hundred percent. If you ask me, that's all them. Yeah, we've got a great group there in Kenaston, great forward group and defense corps. And I just ended up getting a lot of backdoor tap ins and rebounds from my linemates this year. Everything just was seeming to go in, but definitely all the credit to them for sure.”

Yak then also talked about their matchup with Dinsmore which begins Tuesday evening.

“I'm expecting a very good challenge. I mean they finished third this year for a reason. They ran into some injury trouble here late. I think that was probably one of the reasons why they went three games there with Delisle, but they know how to win, right? They won provincial there last year, and they got a good mix of guys, couple good lines and lots of young guys. So, they worked hard and they're hard to play against. So yeah, looking forward to the challenge.”

Game one between the Blizzards and Dynamos goes at 8:00 pm Tuesday from the Kenaston Arena.
