Some cold weather records have been set around West Central this week.

Kindersley was as cold as it has been on December 20th for the first time in just over 30 years, sitting at -38.9°C, as a record of -38.5°C existed from 1990.

The community of Leader saw their records for December 19th (-36.4°C) and December 20th (-38.2°C) broken on back-to-back days.

Environment Canada has had an extreme cold warning issued nearly all week for all of Alberta, much of Saskatchewan, and parts of southern Manitoba, as the weather agency says four communities in Saskatchewan set records back on Wednesday alone.
