Progress is being made for the preparations of Kindersley’s "Coleman Park" project. The engineering plans for the project are almost finished, but the rain this summer delayed the process of seeding and moving the ground in the park.

In the next few months a playground will be bought using a $22,500 community initiatives fund grant. The planning for the new playground is being done by the Coleman Park working group committee . The committee consists of residents who volunteered when the project began last summer.

The goal of the committee is to create a park like no other for people of all ages and walks of life to enjoy. Plans for Coleman Park include a pathway, a hill, fitness equipment, a zip line, and a swing that is easily accessible.

The schedule for the completion of Coleman Park has 3 phases.

Phase 1 (Autumn 2016):
  • Earthworks
  • Installing foundations for playground and fitness equipment
  • Irrigation and seeding
Phase 2 (Spring 2017):
  • Installation of playground and fitness equipment
  • Signs
  • Lighting
  • Planting of trees and landscape plan
  • Installation of benches
  • Packed gravel pathway system
Phase 3 (2018 & beyond):
  • Asphalt on pathway system
  • Bridge/connection to trail system between Rutley Crescent and Stewart Crescent

The future green space is located between Hahn Crescent and Coleman Crescent, and will be just under 3 acres.
