The Kindersley Crude Hitters Roller Derby Team are back on the flat track on Saturday June 18th, 2016.

The Crude Hitter's second home bout of 2016 will take place at the Kindersley Curling Rink, with doors opening at 6:30 PM and the game starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets are still available, and can be purchased at the door that night.

The team's last home game saw a 221-192 victory over the Drumheller Badlands.

Saturday's game will see the Crude Hitters taking on The Redcliff Foxy Rollers for the first time.  Redcliff is a town in southern Alberta, features players from areas around Redcliff, Medicine Hat, and Brooks.

West Central Online spoke to Crude Hitters Joelle "Steam Rollin' Jo" Johnston and Britenie "Black Betty" Georget about the upcoming game.  "Black Betty" spoke about the match-up against the Foxy Rollers.

"We know that they are a small league, they have a lot of girls they have to pickup from other teams.  We've been told they are big hitters, but you never know until you get them on your track, it's really hard to go by what other people say, because what they think and what you think could be completely different."

"Steam Rollin' Jo" added this may give the Crude Hitters an advantage.

"We practice together with mostly the same girls every week, twice a week, for two hours.  So we should have a leg up in that sense."

The Crude Hitters are in their third season, and with three games per season, every bout is special to them.

For those who have never experienced Roller Derby before the game is very fast paced, where hitting is allowed, and according to Johnston, very real.

"We really hit each other, a lot of people still equate it to that game in the 70's, that funny staged act, until you go and play or watch.  I taught aerobics for six years but never worked this hard in my entire life. I've never sweat this hard, I've never felt this fabulous, or passionate about any sport before."

After Saturday's match-up The Crude Hitters will take a break for the summer, but they will still be practicing throughout that time.

The Crude Hitters will return October 1st for a rematch against the Prince Albert Outlaws.
