Kindersley MLA Ken Francis will not be running in next fall's provincial election, after an announcement made yesterday through an official Saskatchewan Party release.

The current MLA Ken Francis confirmed the news through his Facebook, citing personal reasons. First elected in a 2018 by-election, Francis was re-elected in 2020 for a full term. Once his current term comes to an end Francis will exit the Saskatchewan politics scene.

The following statement from Francis comes from an official Saskatchewan Party release.

"I want to thank the good folks of Kindersley for the opportunity. I'm so proud to represent them and to work with our fantastic Saskatchewan Party team led by Premier Moe."

The Premier thanked Francis, along with another MLA set to step down in Greg Ottenbreit.

"Greg and Ken have both been an important part of our government and our Saskatchewan Party team and they will be missed," Moe said, going on about how he is looking forward to seeing the mix of experienced and fresh candidates coming forward in the next general election.
