After a fairly successful pre-season, the Delisle Chiefs were unable to open up their Prairie Junior Hockey League season with a win this past weekend, losing 2-0 to their rivals from Saskatoon.

The Chiefs hosted the Saskatoon Royals in what was the Royal's second game, and the Chiefs season/home opener.

Tyler Peterson got the start in net as the only Chiefs player with a notable stat-line. Delisle's returning starter saved 36/37 shots in what was a very tightly played game at the Delisle Centennial Arena on Saturday.

The Chiefs are home again this weekend as they will play host to Fort Knox. They will remain at home for two games during the week as well following the weekends game, before their first road match against the Saskatoon Westley's on Thursday October 21st.
