A recent donation by an Eston business is being put towards an essential service for the town. Last week the Central Plains Co-op awarded the Eston Fire Department with a $525 cheque which will go towards their goal of purchasing a new fire truck. The amount of the cheque was raised during the Co-op's Fuel Good Day back in September.

Eston Fire Chief Richard Baran shared the details regarding the new fire truck.

"It's probably going to be something that's going to take about a year and a half or two years, depending on how much money comes in. The truck we’re looking at is probably going to cost us about $500,000."

Baran went on to say they have a couple events to help raise some of the money.

"We're going to have a fireman's ball in April on the 1st. We’re also going to have a silent auction, a banquet, and a comedian as well for entertainment."

Any donation amount is more than welcome Baran adds and donations made by cheque can be made out to the Town of Eston.
