The Kindersley Red Lions senior hockey club welcomed home a local hero on Friday night.

Kindersley native and Columbus Blue Jackets forward Derek Dorsett stopped in for a rare mid-season visit as the NHL was off on its annual all-star break. The Red Lions honored Dorsett with a pre-game ceremony before skating to a 5-4 victory over the Eatonia Huskies. Dorsett says the support he's received from his home town has gone alongway in his success.

When asked about his most memorable local hockey experience, the answer was simple.  Dorsett says winning the Anavet Cup with the Klippers in 2004.
