The Elrose Composite School got a boost on Monday.

It was part of a major announcement by the provincial government.  The school was named as one of 18 major capital projects that will see renovations, additions and demolitions at schools across the province.

The project's basic idea is to remove an older section of the school that has deteriorated and is no longer useful.  Then they hope to renovate the ventalation system in the remaining part of the school so that the air quality can be as good as possible.

$142 million in total was committed by the provincial government, to 29 miscellaneous block projects and the 18 major capital projects.  Mike Fedyk, Communications Officer with the Sunwest School Division says they are pleased that were named as one of the projects and added that they are still waiting on some details from the government when it comes to how much funding as well as a timeline.
