Male and female hockey teams will engage in their first action of the season this weekend at the West Central Events Centre. Tune-up games for each of the U15 and U18 AA West Central Wheat Kings teams against Swift Current will be played on either side of an exciting girls matchup going early Sunday in Kindersley.

First off ion Saturday, the U15 AA West Central Wheat Kings will be together for the first time as a team after camp last weekend. They will face the Swift Current Broncos U15 AA team at 1:30 PM, before heading to Swift Current on Sunday for the second half of a home-and-home.

On Sunday, the Western Prairie Klippers of the new Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League will play their first ever game at 11:45 AM. It's a milestone for the team that has been coming together nicely over the past few weeks.

Also on Sunday at 4:00 PM, the U18 AA West Central Wheat Kings will be in action against the U18 Swift Current AA Broncos.

There's no doubt the Zamboni will be getting a workout this weekend. It's pre-season for the rink crew too.
