A flare up of the fire in the RM of Waverly on Monday has started again and crews are back out on the scene trying to put it out.

The fire hazard is extremely high in many areas of Saskatchewan right now, especially in the south.

Farmers, ranchers, hunters and the general public are being encouraged not to leave vehicles running in fields or pastures, and to carry fire suppression equipment in case a fire should develop.

Farmers are encouraged to have water tanks at fields as they work, it’s also a good idea to make sure you have a shovel and fire extinguisher available at all times.

With the high fire risk, it doesn’t take much to spark a fire so it may be a good idea to also make sure vehicles are left off the field or pasture.

It doesn’t take much to spark a fire right now and with it being so dry and windy it can easily get out of control.
