UPDATE: May 31, 2:30 pm - The Kindersley Fire Department shared they were dispatched to a grass fire west on Highway 7 just before noon. The fire was contained to the south ditch and a power pole and all units are now back in service.

 

Multiple fire trucks, police cruisers and a SaskPower truck were reported heading west on Highway 7 from Kindersley.

Local RCMP stated that an electrical fire started on one of the power poles and sparks then ignited a fire in the stubble field below. The officer added they are not aware of any road closures or if the fire has been contained. 

Drivers heading west of Kindersley are urged to use caution and prepare for possible delays as emergency crews work to put the fire out.
