Environment Canada has issued an update for the previously posted freezing rain warning in west central Saskatchewan, stating it has now ended.

Drivers are still being asked to take caution while driving on the roads as surfaces may be covered in ice.

Earlier, the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline issued travel warnings for the following highways:

  • Highway 4 from Biggar to Cando, and grid 768 to Biggar;
  • Highway 376 from the Highway 14 junction to Arelee;
  • Highway 14 from Biggar to Landis, Landis to Wilkie, and Asquith to Perdue, and Perdue to Biggar;
  • Highway 51 from the Highway 4 junction to Handel Access.

These highways may continue to pose slippery conditions. The forecast is still calling for a chance of showers this afternoon.
