Golden West Radio's Barrie Vice has been inducted into the Western Association of Broadcasters (WAB) Hall of Fame last week.

Vice began his broadcasting career at CJDV Drumheller in July of 1977. He joined Moose Jaw's 800 CHAB back in 1979.

“It's been the pleasure of my life to be at this radio station. It really has, and I think I just want to thank Golden West for its vision. They really made this radio station what I always dreamed and wanted it to be. A great community radio station that talked to community people about community things and that was intrinsically what Golden West was and is about,” said Vice.

Vice is currently the Saskatchewan Program Manager for Golden West.

“Barrie has been a part of Golden West since the early 90’s when we purchased CHAB in Moose Jaw,” says Golden West President, Elmer Hildebrand. “Barrie has a keen sense for what ‘sounds right on the radio’ and his leading voice can be found daily on many of our stations."

Vice has been heard on Classic Hits Radio, filling in for the morning show, and you can still hear him Sundays on CJYM/CFYM from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm

He was inducted into the hall of fame during the WAB’s 86th annual conference.
