The rematch between the Kindersley Jr. Klippers and La Ronge Ice Wolves, was another close matchup until the third period at the WCEC Saturday night.

Kindersley went out front late in the first period, on a seeing eye shot from Ethan Hilbig through traffic from the right point. The goal with the hometown Klipper's 3rd of the season. This assists went to Lucky Lake's Jaydon Jessiman and Swift Current's Cash Arntsen.

Then Aidan Bangs made a nice rush to double the lead, as he got a little bit of a break, with the original shot going off La Ronge netminder Topher Chirico, and a Ice Wolves defender into the net. The goal was Bangs 6th of the season, with the helpers going to Matt Mazzocchi and Kayden Ostrom.

But the Ice Wolves answered back in the final minute of play, getting a powerplay and burying it. The shot came from defenseman Liam McInnis from the left point and found its way through traffic. This was the second time in two games, La Ronge got a goal in the final 10 seconds of the first period.

Kindersley came back with a good effort in the second, and if it wasn't for the splendid goaltending of Chirico, this game could have easily gotten away from the Ice Wolves. This included a sensational save off of Tylin Hilbig, who made a nice move around the La Ronge defender at the bottom of the left circles. Then went to the net and tried a backhand on the far side, but Chirico made a diving save to his left to keep it 2-1. This was the turning point of the game in my opinion.

La Ronge then came back on a super passing play from Parker Layton to Thomas Right and then it was finished off by Jacob Visentini to even the score.

The third period was all Ice Wolves, thanks to a couple of mental errors by the Klippers. This included a giveaway by goaltender Logan Falk, who came out to play the puck, and unfortunately passed to Ethan Strik and he put it in the yawning cage. The goal took the wind of the sails of Kindersley, as La Ronge got four goals in all in the third to take a 6-2 win, and split back to LA.

The Klippers will now shift focus to division rival Humboldt, for a special Family Day affair at 3:00 pm from EPA. Country 104 will have the call, with the Murlin Electronics pregame show with Chris Omness beginning at 2:45 pm.
