Most roads in the West Central area are still reporting travel not recommended at this time. Here is a screenshot from the Highway Hotline as of 12:30 pm.

UPDATE: 9:00 AM March 8

Roads in the West Central region are still not got this morning, and travel is still recommended at this time. This came from the Kindersley Fire Department via Facebook this morning.

UPDATE: 6:30 PM March 7

Highway 7 has been reopened east of McGee, but travel is still not recommended for all of the West Central region due to high winds, ice covered roads, snow drifts, and reduced visibility. 

UPDATE: 4:00 PM March 7 

The Unity RCMP is also recommending drivers to avoid unnecessary travel due to the inclement weather impacting travel and road conditions in the areas of Unity, Landis, Wilkie, and Macklin. Drivers are asked to avoid traveling in these areas until the road conditions improve. This also came from the Kindersley Fire Department via Facebook.

UPDATE: 2:10 PM March 7

Due to the icy roads causing a semi jackknifed east of McGee on Highway 7, West Central Online has learned from the Rosetown Fire Department that the road is closed until it can be cleared, and travel is not recommended at this time. We will have more as the story develops.

Due to the high winds, warmer temperatures, and latest snowfall, there is a semi jackknifed on Highway 4 north of Elrose, and one accident was reported near Harris earlier on Highway 7 due to the icy roads.

There is also a semi jackknifed west of Rosetown on Highway 7, and some cars are in the ditch as well. The wind is expected to remain for the day, and icy roads may persist into the evening, and overnight.
