Nine Saskatoon-based corporations and two Saskatoon residents have been issued a Temporary Cease Trade Order (TCTO) by the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan.

The residents are Alisa Thompson and Rochelle Laflamme.

The companies are:

  • Epic Alliance Inc.
  • Epic Alliance Real Estate Inc.
  • 12099179 Canada Inc.
  • 12195160 Canada Inc.
  • 12195194 Canada Inc.
  • 12262231 Canada Inc.
  • 12693151 Canada Inc.
  • 12767490 Canada Inc.
  • 12884607 Canada Inc.

Thompson and Laflamme are cited as founders of Epic Alliance Inc. on a post on their Facebook page from 2019.

An October 14 post from Epic Alliance Inc. on Facebook said, "Earn monthly cash flow with our Hassle-Free Landlord Program and we will get you on track to lead your best life! Check it out on our website."

The FCAA said all trading in securities derivatives by the listed parties must cease until November 5, at which point the order may be extended. The order also removes the companies' and individuals' ability to use any exemptions related to the trade of securities and derivatives in Saskatchewan.

Companies and individuals need to be registered with the FCAA to trade, sell, or give advice on securities and derivatives in Saskatchewan. The companies and individuals listed were not registered with the FCAA according to a release Friday afternoon from the province.

"Before you engage in an investment opportunity or follow guidance from someone offering investment advice, check to see if the company or individual is registered by visiting www.aretheyregistered.ca," said FCAA Director of Enforcement Harvey White.

Anyone contacted by these companies or individuals should contact the FCAA's Securities Division at 306-787-5936.

Epic Alliance Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
