The Kindersley Jr. A Klippers will look to end their 2023 preseason at 2-2, as the rival Battlefords North Stars will invade the West Central Events Centre this evening.

It has been a busy week for the Klippers, as the team made three signings on Monday. This included the Perlinger twins, who Head Coach & GM Clayton Jardine had nothing but high praise for.

"They were very deserving of it; they came in and made the team and made it very hard on us to send them back to U18 AAA hockey. So, they left us no choice but to put them on the team because they are very deserving, and they are both going to have great years," Jardine said about the homegrown twins.

As for the other signing on Monday, 2005 born forward David Lebel, Jardine was very happy he could add another scoring boost for the upcoming SJHL season.

"It was important for us to add a little bit of scoring this year, put us over the hump and allow us to win more hockey games. That was something we were looking at was a 2005 born forward that had some experience, putting up some points. So, we are happy to have David (Lebel) as well."

And looking at tonight's final preseason tune up before the regular season, Jardine said the players on the ice will be battling for position for the 2023-24 regular season.

"Obviously, the guys are still fighting for spots within the lineup. We're very close to who we want on our team, but everyone that's going to be in the lineup will be on our team. And now it's just a challenge to just be on the first, second, third and fourth line, the one to six defensemen and who wants to play power play and who wants to play penalty kill, all those earning it."

Tonight's matchup between the North Stars and Klippers will take place at 7:30 pm.
