The Kindersley Jr. A Klippers welcomed the Nipawin Hawks to the West Central Events Centre for a special Halloween Howler game last night. After the Hawks took the lead 1-0 after one on a goal by Eric Hoiness, the Klippers tied it up late in the second period on a goal by Keenan Ingram.
Kindersley then came out flying in the third period, scoring two goals in 12 seconds. Klippers captain Logan Linklater capitalized on a nice pass from Kennan Ingram to give Kindersley a 2-1 lead. Then rookie defenseman Austin Osiowy made it 3-1 with his fourth of the season. Zakery Anderson and Easton Inglis got the assists. Then 51 seconds later the Hawks got back within one, as a Luke Chase point shot went off Finley Radloff and went past Klippers goaltender Cody Jaman.
Kindersley then got a power just over two minutes later and cashed in on a nice passing play started by Tylin Hilbig, and captain Logan Linklater found Ingram for his second of the evening. Then over six minutes later Braden Ivey got his first in the SJHL with the assist going to Kayden Ostrom. Nipawin then pulled their goalie and had a powerplay as well for a 6-on-4 advantage and Hoiness got his second to get Nipawin within two. That is as close as the Hawks would get, as Kindersley put an end to their five-game losing streak, with a 5-3 victory on home ice.
Next action for the Klippers is a home date with the Yorkton Terriers Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
