The Kindersley Jr. Klippers and Weyburn Red Wings played game one of their two game weekend series Saturday night at the WCEC.

Kindersley got on the board first in this one for the third straight game, as Logan Linklater scored on a perfect shot from the right point on the powerplay. The puck went bar down and in for his 14th of the season. The assist went to Tylin Hilbig

The Red Wings responded with a powerplay goal of their own later in the first, with Ryley Morgan scoring his 24th of the season.

Things stayed tied into the third period, when the Red Wings converted on a 3-on-2 rush with Braigh LeGrandeur finishing a nice passing play from Elijah Anderson and Blake Betson.

It looked like the Klippers may fall in regulation, but with the goaltender pulled in the final minute, Logan Linklater took a shot from the point which had eyes and beat Dazza Mitchell to even the score. Matthew Mazzocchi and Tylin Hilbig got the helpers.

The game went to overtime and just 39 seconds in, Red Wings defenseman Blake Norris drove the net and put the puck past Jaman for the game winner. The goal was Norris' 3rd of the season.

Kindersley and Weyburn will finish their season series Sunday afternoon at the WCEC for a special matinee puck drop at 4:00 pm.

There is also a special kids skate with the Jr. Klippers after the game, so kids of all ages are encouraged to bring their skates and have a good time.
