After a missing a playoff spot last season, the Kindersley Jr. A Klippers go into their main training camp hungry to try to get themselves into the playoff mix in 2023-24.

The camp starts at 4:00 pm this afternoon at the West Central Events Centre, and scrimmages will go throughout the weekend to trim the roster down for the first preseason games to be held next week.

The Kimmer Cup will officially wrap up the main camp and will take place on Sunday at 7:00 pm at the WCEC.

New Head Coach and GM Clayton Jardine will look to turn the ship around, as the team has not made the playoffs since 2019.

Jardine returned to Kindersley in the offseason, as he was coaching in the AJHL for the Camrose Kodiaks before the move.

After the camp, the team will begin its preseason on September 8 against Humboldt on the road, before the return matchup in Kindersley on September 9. The busy weekend will wrap up in North Battleford on September 10.

The SJHL regular season will start on September 22, as the Klippers will head up to the Battlefords to play the longtime rival North Stars.

The team will open its home schedule on September 23 in a rematch against the North Stars.
