The Kindersley Composite School gymnasium will be home to some squeaking shoes this weekend.

Beginning today, the KCS Sr. Boys Basketball Kobra Classic sees the host Kobras being joined by Rosetown, Eston, Biggar, Delisle, Maple Creek, Sakaskohc, and Unity.

The first game tips off at 2:30 this afternoon between KCS and Rosetown, as local students will get out of class early to support their team:

Courtesy of WCHSAA President Lance Morrision, the first round of Senior Basketball playoffs begins with Conference tournaments starts next weekend (Mar. 10/11) with the following placements:

  • Biggar will host 3A boys Basketball Conferences
    • Rosetown, Unity and Outlook will participate
      • Top 2 teams will advance to Regionals
  • LCBI will host 2A girls Basketball Conferences 
    • Eatonia, Herbert, Wilkie
      • Top 2 teams will advance to Regionals 
  • Biggar, Kindersley, Rosetown will travel to Unity for 3A girls Conferences
  • Davidson will travel to Regina Laval for 2A girls Conferences
  • Marengo will travel to Macklin for 2A boys Conferences
  • Eston, LCBI, Davidson, Kenaston will travel to Herbert for 2A boys Conferences
  • Kenaston will play in the 1A girls Conferences (location TBD)

Regionals will be held the weekend of March 17/18 from TBD locations. After that, Provincial Hoopla will be in Prince Albert from March 24/25.
