More than twice as many votes were cast at this year’s advance poll for the municipal election in Kindersley than at the previous election’s advance poll held in 2012.

A total of 169 ballots were counted in the advance poll which was held on Thursday at the Kindersley Administration Office. The turnout was up by an increase of 59 percent over the 2012 municipal election’s advance poll.

More than two-thirds of the voters came out in the first half of the day.

Kindersley’s municipal election will be held on Wednesday, October 26th at Elizabeth School’s gymnasium. The polls will be open from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Election Day.

Rodney Perkins and Tom Morris are the candidates running for mayor of Kindersley. Perkins is an accountant who has lived in Kindersley for decades, and Morris has been serving as the president of the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce.

Voters are allowed to vote for a maximum of 6 candidates for councillor and one Mayoral candidate.
