Once the crews arrived they called for backup as some firefighters were still at the scene North of Alsask. Before 4:00 PM the Semi fire was put out and began to fight the fire that continued to spread across surrounding fields. The entire scene was under control, and all units were back in service by 4:45 PM.

The Kindersley Fire Department praised the Kindersley RCMP for directing traffic on Highway 21, allowing the crews to put out the fires in an efficient manner.

The RM 290 also received special recognition for providing a water truck and grader.

The firefighters also gave thanks to everyone who helped out the short handed crews with rakes, shovels, and water trucks, making the result of the fires much better than expected.
