Lac Pelletier officially has all the bragging rights for lines of inflatables.
The park's attempt for the world record of the longest line of water inflatables was undertaken back on July 30, 2022, and is now official.
The park made an announcement on social media earlier today that they now hold the record, as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Tammy Tangen, an event organizer from the attempt, is thrilled that all the effort has paid off.
"We can't thank our sponsors, volunteers, and participants enough," said Tangen. "We're just super excited."
The new record is 358.7 metres of continuous individuals joined together whilst riding their inflatable tires, floaties, animals and other air-filled units.
As for why it took six months for the record to be certified, it all comes down to the paperwork. Even if the event was only a day, it took time for officials to present the attempt, submit it online, review, and finally certify it.
"It was a lot of work getting all the documents together," said Tangen. "For the drone footage, we had awesome support from GeoVera and their team doing the measuring."
As for the reward for all the effort, it's something priceless.
"All the bragging rights," said Tangen. "And we get certified."
At the end of the day, this record was only possible thanks to the community who came out ready to make it happen.
"We're just super excited and proud of our community," said Tangen. We are very thankful to our sponsors and volunteers, the organizing committee and the Board of Lac Pelletier for standing behind us and supporting us in the opportunity to break the record."
