A local hockey player will be heading to an international event this holiday season.

Rosetown's Kendall McFaull will head to the World Under 17 Challenge being held in Port Alberni, BC.  McFaull is one of 22 players from Manitoba and Saskatchewan to be selected to Canada's Team West.  The self proclaimed "stay at home" defenseman tells us that it will be a challenge to face the international competition.

McFaull, who plays for the Midget AAA Saskatoon Contacts, will head West early on Boxing Day.  His team plays Russia in an exhibition game on the 28th then kicks off the tournament the next day against Team Quebec.
