Back on Tuesday, September 13th, the West Central District Senior Golf Championships were held at the Davidson Golf Course.

The athletes in competition came from Beechy School, Biggar Central School 2000, Davidson School, Elrose Composite School, Eston Composite School, Kindersley Composite School, Kyle Composite School, Outlook High School, and North West Central School in Plenty.

According to the Sun West School Division release, the District Boys Championship went to Keaton Cote of Kindersley Composite School, while the Girls Championship went to Chloe Wills of Kyle Composite School.

The strong showings mean that Keaton and Chloe, along with Colton Simpson of Eston Composite School, Brody Harris of Outlook High School, Colby Mathers of Eston Composite School, Alya Stevens of Kindersley Composite School, and Aubrey Gray of Davidson School have all qualified for the SHSAA Senior Provincial Golf Championship that is taking place on September 23-24 from Jackfish Lake.

Best of luck goes out to all West Central athletes, and President of the local high school sporting association Lance Morrison would like to thank Ian Osmond of Davidson School for hosting this year’s championship.
