Kindersley will be hosting competitive baseball this weekend as the Midget Girls Provincial "C" Fastball Tournament will be at the ball diamonds behind the Kindersley Inn all weekend long. The action kicks off this afternoon with opening ceremonies scheduled for 6:00 in the evening.

The first game is scheduled at 1:30 PM in what should be a hotly contested game between the Kindersley Royals and the Rosetown Angels. A variety of teams from locations throughout the province are participating in this year's tournament including the Royals, Angels, Macklin Lakers, Watrous Royals, Muenster A's, Arborfield Pasqua Rebels, and the Esterhazy Thunder.

Round robin play will be featured today and Saturday with the best four teams heading to the finals on Sunday. This year's teams are prepared to bring their best effort to the tournament this year, and it should make for a very entertaining weekend of fastball.

"It's great ball. It's 19 and under, so they have been at it for quite a few years," said Nikki Clark, one of the main organizers for the tournament this year. "Hopefully the weather is nice so we can get some good crowds and have a good weekend."

Tournament organizers are still looking for volunteers to help out during the weekend. If you are interested in lending a hand during the tournament, contact trevfour67@gmail.com.
