Buck was sitting first in the novice pro bareback but was injured when a horse flipped over backwards on him breaking his hand which ended his season last year. He did switch hands to ride at Calgary Stampede and 4 other pro rodeos where he placed at 2 of them but made a decision to let it heal so he could come back strong this year, JB was also injured he was leading the bull riding and bronc riding in the KCRA when a bulls horn collided with him breaking his collar bone ending his year of rodeo. It was the first time in ten years that the Moen boys weren't riding at a finals, although Buck being hurt for most the season still made the CCA finals in Regina but was unable to ride there.

Buck Moen has placed at all rodeos he's been to except for 1, Buck won Coutts with 80 points, second at Stettler with 79, second at Warman with 73, second at North Battleford with 75 and third at Saskatoon with a 75.

JB Moen competed in the National high school finals rodeo where he placed 11th out of over 200 other competitors then Kindersley CCA rodeo where he was 82 for second place. Then bronc riding, Whitewood CCA then nationals where he finished 22nd out of 200 competitors and then Eston CCA where he won the novice saddle bronc.

He has won Eston CCA bullring with a score of 83 and saddle bronc with a 73, Warman CCA bullring with 81, second at Coutts with 79 and he won Stettler CCA in bronc riding and also Lancer CCA. JB will be riding in the novice saddle bronc at the Calgary Stampede on July 13th. JB is leading the CCA in the bull riding and novice saddle bronc and Buck is sitting 4th in the standings.

Buck and JB have a busy schedule for the rest of the summer with 2 or more rodeos a weekend from Alberta through to Manitoba. Their sister Makayla Moen will be barrel racing at SRBA's and Buck's fiancee Shayana McDermit will be at the SRBA's and also KCRA rodeos.
