Parents using the Court of Queen's Bench to go through a seperation or divorce will now have to take the Parenting after Separation and Divorce program.

Until now, the program, which helps parents understand the effects of family legal disputes on their children, was only required at Queen's Bench locations in Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert and Yorkton.

However, parents do not have to take the course if they resolve their dispute without using the courts.

The program is well-received by judges, lawyers and clients and a survey shows a 90 percent approval rate from parents who attended the program.
