A $14 million new school is now under construction in Blaine Lake.

Premier Scott Moe was at the site Friday to mark the start of the construction for the school, which will be replacing the existing Blaine Lake Composite School. The new school, when finished, will accommodate roughly 150 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

"It is exciting to see construction begin on this new school that will serve the community of Blaine Lake for decades to come," Moe said. "Investing in rural infrastructure is a priority for our government, and this state-of-the-art facility will not only provide an outstanding learning environment for students and staff, but it will also serve as a gathering place for the community."

The new school is expected to be opened open for the start of the 2023-24 school year.
