On September 28th the Provincial Government announced that a vaccine mandate would be implemented for all government employees including the provincial Crown Corporations.

The government provided employees until October 12th to declare if they had received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or not.

This week, those that did not declare will need to begin providing negative COVID-19 test results.

As has been indicate, failing to provide the test results or proof of vaccination could begin a discipline process for government employees. A discipline process outlined in government Human Resource material suggests first a verbal warning, then a letter, suspension from duty, and possible termination.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority, which implemented its own policy, suggested last week that only about 2% of its 40,000-employee workforce had not been fully vaccinated. The provincial government has not yet provided data of its workforce.
