The Rosetown Royals football club finished their 2017 season on Saturday afternoon with a loss to the top ranked team in the conference, the Clavet Cougars.

Clavet finished the regular season with a perfect record of six wins and zero losses, while Rosetown went even with three wins and three losses. The win for Clavet gives them a spot in the 2A 6-Man Provincial Championship and will get to host the game against Watrous.

Rosetown was unable to gain any momentum during the season, but also never entered a slump of any kind. Each time the Royals won a football game, they would follow up the week later by losing. Although every time they lost a game in the regular season, the Royals would come back with a win in the next week.

Rosetown clinched a playoff spot at home against the Biggar Blazers football club in Week 5 of the season, which is always one of the biggest games of the year. The rivalry with Biggar and Rosetown is historic and was a much needed win for the boys in red and black.

Overall, the Royals won three total games and lost four games including both the regular season and playoffs.
