The Rosetown Scouts are non profit group that provide programs and activities for younger people. The season for the groups runs from September to June.

Scout Leader, Allan Hettrick says that they don't do the badges and sash anymore, "That's changed a little bit. Scouts Canada has gone to what they call the Canadian Path now instead of the badge training stuff... It's pretty much a youth lead experience. So the youth decides what they want to do and us as leaders are advisors. We lead them along the way."

The Canadian Path revolves around six program areas or categories, which includes Environment and Outdoors, Leadership, Active and Healthy Living, Citizenship, Creative Expression, and Beliefs and Values.

Rosetown has three groups, Beavers which are Kindergarten to Grade 2, Cubs which are Grade 3-5, and the Scouts which are grade 6 - 9. The group also has a few older people who have been through the program and are now training to be leaders. Each group meets once a week at the Rosetown Scout Hut. Anyone can join the Scouts club and Hettrick mentions it's never too late to start coming to the meetings.

Right now the Scouts are fundraising for their year end camping trip. The date is not set yet, but Hettrick says it is usually at the end of May. The group is selling raffle tickets.

Any money leftover from the fundraising, the Scouts help pay for the cost of summer camps for a few of the older kids.
