Saskatchewan's financial picture is improving, as it ends the year with a solid final quarter shown in the 2009 / 2010 Public Accounts.

Since the Third Quarter Financial released in early March, the province has seen an improvement of 253.3 million dollars.

This includes 152 million dollars in additional reveune, mainly from stronger oil revenues, 100.4 million dollars in reduced spending in ministries, and a 0.9 million dollar net gain on commercial activiites recorded at year end.

Finance Minister Rod Gantefoer says Saskatchewan experienced a turbulent year financially, but managed to see the fiscal situation improve steadily.
