All levels of senior hockey were busy this past Family Day Weekend, and this includes provincials as well.

Starting off in the SWHL, Kindersley fell to Drake 3-2 in double overtime in provincial A play. Kindersley will look for revenge this Thursday at the WCEC. Puck drop is 8:00 pm.

Wilkie has punched their ticket to the provincial B north final, after defeating Willow Creek in two straight games. They will be playing Wadena in the north final series. Game one of that series will be held in Wadena this Saturday at 7:00 pm.

Macklin will be getting ready to play Kyle in an all West Central matchup this weekend. Game time from Kyle is 5:00 pm Saturday, February 25. The return matchup will be in Macklin on March 3rd at 8:30 pm.

League play sees Macklin have a 2-0 stranglehold on Kindersley, as they defeated the Klippers 5-3 on home ice Sunday. Game three of that series goes in Kindersley this upcoming Sunday at 7:15 pm from the WCEC.

Wilkie has a 1-0 lead in their series against Edam, and will look to make in two in a row Wednesday night against the 3 Stars. 


Shifting focus to the SVHL, the final four teams have been set. Kyle plays Eston, and Kenaston plays Dinsmore.

The Blizzards are coming off a humbling 12-3 loss in C provincials Monday evening to Langenberg, and will look to bounce back at home this upcoming Saturday. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Eston is also still alive in C provincials, as they knocked off Birch Hills in game one of their series 6-5 at home over the weekend. Game two is back in Birch Hills this Saturday at 7:00 pm.

Dinsmore will look to punch their ticket to the next round, after beating Porcupine Plain 8-2 over the weekend. Game two of that series will be back in Dinsmore on Saturday at 8:00 pm.

As mentioned earlier, the Elks will be taking on the Macklin Mohawks in the north final of D provincials.


And it is down to the final series in the WMHL, as Eatonia and Gull Lake will battle it out to find out who will take home the championship.

The first year Huskies defeated the Maple Creek Hawks over the weekend, and the Greyhounds defeated the Shaunavon Badgers. 

Game one of the best of 5 series will be held in Gull Lake on Sunday at 6:00 pm. Game two in Eatonia will be on March 4th at 7:00 pm.
