Team Canada's run at the 2022 World Senior Curling Championships is over, as they lost a very tight game 4-3 to Team USA in their half of the qualification games.

They traded points over the first two ends, before USA went up 2-1 headed into a scoreless showing for each side in the fourth. Team Canada would tie things up the next round, only for the two North American rinks to trade points again until the eighth and final end where Team USA would take the one point win.

Team USA now moves on to face Team Finland in the semi final, and Team Canada will officially not be able to defend her world title.

Anderson shared that her team is sticking around in Geneva, Switzerland for a couple more days to enjoy their trip a little more. We spoke with the skip yesterday, and you can expect a full story on their experience (that ended a little early) this afternoon.

Team Canada is finished with it's scheduled games at the 2022 World Senior Curling Championships, as Sherry Anderson skipped her team to a 10-2 win against Italy to guarantee themselves at least a second place finish.

They currently sit in-between Scotland and Ireland in the standings, with the former set for the last match of the round robin.

Matchups will be determined soon, as eliminations begin soon in Geneva, Switzerland.

UPDATE: April 27th, 2022, 10:30 am

Team Canada won again to up their record to 4-1, with a 10-1 win against Team Czech Republic.

Their opponents won the first end with a single score, but then Sherry Anderson and her team ended the game early after scoring multiple times in each end to follow.

Team Canada has one more game left to play before they enter the elimination stage, as Anderson looks to defend her world title.

UPDATE: April 26th, 2022, 7:00 am 

Skip Sherry Anderson and her team picked up another win this morning against Team Sweden, to set Team Canada up with a 3-1 record headed into their final two games of the round robin set to wrap up on Thursday.

Each team traded a pair of scores for the first three ends as Team Sweden took a 4-2 lead into the fourth, where Team Canada would come back with two straight singles to knot the game at 4. From there Team Canada scored two in the 6th and two in the 7th as things would wrap up early with an 8-4 final.

Their next matchup is set for the last draw of the night tomorrow beginning at 4 pm against the Czech Republic, and the last game of the opening round will go against Italy at noon Geneva time on Thursday.

Sherry Anderson's Team Canada is underway at the 2022 Senior Curling Championships in Geneva, Switzerland.  After losing their first game 8-2 to Team Scotland, Anderson and her team bounced back with victories over Denmark by a score of 9-2, and Ireland by a score of 7-6.

Anderson will be on the ice once today, against Team Sweden at 12:00 pm Geneva time, before playing the Czech Republic and Italy to wrap up their round robin play.

Team Scotland leads the way with a 3-0 record in Pool A, with Team Canada and Team Sweden tied at 2-1 heading into today's games. 

West Central Online will continue to follow Team Anderson, who consists of Anderson, vice-skip Patty Hersikorn, Brenda Goertzen, Anita Silvernagle, Denise Hersikorn throughout the Senior Curling Championships, which conclude this Saturday.
