Over 20,000 toilets have been rebated in Saskatchewan since the Provincial Toilet Replacement Rebate Program began in January of 2009.

Saskatchewan Watershed Authority Water Conservation Technical Officer Andrew Thornton says the program has been successful. The original intent of the program was to get people thinking about water conservation and giving them a fairly simple way to participate in that initiative by replacing older, high volume toilets with newer, water efficient ones.

Thornton added that the program will continue as they work on conserving water in Saskatchewan.
