Last night, the Rosetown Redwings U11 Speir team hit the road for a game in Eston. The final score, or fun had by players was not the story of the night, as rather a show of support for recent events in Ukraine helped raise the spirits in the rink.

The Rosetown team features two players from Ukraine - Kyryl Kuzmych and Dmytro Nikolaienko - with Dymtro actually just recently back in Canada following a visit to his family in Ukraine just a couple of weeks ago.

The team taped their sticks in blue and yellow to show support for their teammates and their families, and a great show of support it was for a local family impacted by a situation so far away; yet so close to home for many in the province.
