The 2023 SHSAA Conference Basketball round for both girls and boys senior teams was held over the weekend.

The 2A boys bracket saw a local tournament out of Macklin, and Herbert, and local 3A boys action was being ran out of Biggar and Delisle. Local tournaments for 2A girls teams took place in Asquith, Maidstone, and LCBI, and then Unity welcomed in the local 3A girls.

Starting with the 2A boys action out of Macklin, the host team narrowly lost to Langham for a chance to make the finals. Instead it was Langham taking a big victory against Asquith in the finals, as both teams will be moving on to the next round. No local teams advanced out of the action in Herbert, as both Eston and LCBI lost out in the semis to the teams that will advance in Davidson and the host Herbert.

The 3A boys tournament out of Biggar was an exciting one out of West Central with all teams coming from the area. Biggar, Kindersley, Rosetown, and Unity battled it out, and the Unity Warriors came out victorious with a big win over Biggar. 3A boys action from Delisle had the host Rebels as the only local team. Their season is over after losing to Clavet.

Switching over to the girls side, Asquith, Maidstone, and LCBI played host. Asquith won their tournament to move on, LCBI and Wilkie are moving on after the action down in Outlook that also featured Eatonia. Macklin was in Maidstone, and emerged with a win over the hosts.

The only local tournament for 3A girls happened out of Unity, with Biggar, Kindersley, Rosetown, and Delisle joining the host Warriors as local teams in action. The semi-final round saw St. Walburg take down Rosetown, and then Unity beat Kindersley to place both winning sides into the next round. It was an exciting championship game between Unity and St. Walburg, with the home West Central team taking a narrow three point win 63-60.
